We moved into my husband's childhood home last December. The house hadn't be updated in a couple of decades. The current kitchen is certainly workable, but without some of the modern conveniences. At the other end of this long house is the remnants of the 1940's kitchen. We have decided to renovate this old kitchen, keeping the newer kitchen intact while the house is under construction.
The bedroom over the older kitchen has been historically used as a guest bedroom. It is rather dark for a bedroom. Being right beside the master bedroom, we have decided to turn this extra room into a master bath. This takes advantage of being able to tie into the plumbing from the kitchen below.
